Welcome to the Kaitiaki web site. The site for kaitiaki mäori. working on behalf of whanau, hapu and iwi, particularly on environment and resource management issues. This site is dedicated to supporting you in this work throughout the motu.

Join Up

Please sign up for membership of our web site, after you sign up, you will be listed on the home page so that existing members can welcome you on.

We have four groups of members of the web site, they are:

• Kaitiro - observers (people waiting to be welcomed)
• Te Hunga Manuhiri - visitors (newcomers)
• Te Hunga Käinga - full members - also members of the incorporated society
• Te Komiti Whakahaere - the executive members of the society

Please read the explanation of the on-line powhiri system for an overview of these groups.

Join the Incorporated Society

When you join the web site you can choose the option to join the (proposed) incorporated society. You don"t automatically become a member of the incorporated society until you recieve Te Hunga Käinga status from the other members. Please see the sponsorship report and the constitution for more information about the incorporated society.
